Every journey matters
We transport some of the most vulnerable children in England. This report sets out what we delivered in 2024–25, what it meant for the children and families we serve, and what we're doing to do better.
Behind the numbers
Names and identifying details have been changed to protect confidentiality.
Before Vayacare, this child would arrive at school in a state of severe distress after unpredictable handovers. Within three weeks of the communication passport being introduced and Marcus being trained on her specific needs, her school reported a dramatic improvement in morning readiness. Her mother said: “For the first time, I don't cry when the van leaves.”
This young person had previously refused transport entirely due to a history of frightening experiences in vehicles. Our trauma-informed PA team built trust over eight weeks, using a graduated exposure approach. He now attends a specialist college five days a week.
